Time is love and memories are more precious than gold.

“That’s what winter is: an exercise in remembering how to still yourself then how to come pliantly back to life again.” — Ali Smith

Winter is usually my favorite time of year. A time to rest, enjoy some Earl Grey tea, spend some fun time with family, and recoup from my long and busy work season.

This winter has been much different and challenging as Covid restrictions pushed my work schedule far into January. I worked hard to meet my business deadlines while I also balanced caring for my mom, scheduled referrals, and talked to medical professionals about our next steps during my moms illness and Cancer diagnosis. I tried to be there and do everything for everyone.

Through this storm I've realized that life is in a constant state of change beyond our control. I've learned to trust in God and His timing, He is in control. I've learned to walk in faith understanding that everything is perfectly planned by Him for His perfect purpose. Most importantly I have learned that time spent talking to God, special precious moments with family, and self love is more important than gold. I've learned to slow down and thank God.

Today I decided take some time for family and myself so asked my mom to go on a spontaneous road trip. I wanted her to see all the beauty of Minnesota's breathtaking landscapes, especially with the latest frost.

We laughed a lot, got lost a few times along the way, and most importantly spent some beautiful time together making memories.

I'm posting a few photos from our journey below, winter is truly the most beautiful time of the year.
